Made to Measure Leather

Atelier Saman Amel suede and leather pieces are produced in a small family-owned workshop in Naples, Italy, with over 40 years of experience. While Naples is widely known for its tailoring, the region carries a rich tradition of garment making beyond tailoring and is widely considered a historical epicenter of craft in Europe. Each made to measure suede and leather piece is cut individually by a master cutter and handled with great care and precision throughout the production process.

A limited selection of suede and leather pieces can be ordered from remote as made to order without an in-person appointment. For remote orders, send a request to be connected personally with a team member for more details.

Available by appointment in Stockholm and London ateliers or during trunk shows in New York and Los Angeles. Make an inquiry for pricing details and to book an appointment.

Materials

All skins used for Atelier Saman Amel suede and leather garments are responsibly sourced and controlled when dyed to minimize water usage. Working predominantly with a particular suede quality that is light and soft on the hand as well as a subtly textured plongé lambskin leather, the colors have been developed particularly to suit the Atelier Saman Amel palette.

Craft and Origin

As with all Atelier Saman Amel Italian ateliers, the Neapolitan outerwear workshop adheres to the single unit production model - meaning that each piece is produced individually which puts the operation in stark contrast to conventional fashion industry practices. The single unit production approach ensures that every garment is made with purpose and with a “zero vision” for over-production otherwise commonplace in the clothing industry. Furthermore, the model puts emphasis on the people in the workshop and enables them to work to perfect the garments in a manageable pace - focusing on quality over quantity.
