The overcoat is another cornerstone of the seasonal wardrobe. Atelier Saman Amel offers three distinct models, all designed to stand the test of time: the tailored single breasted and double breasted overcoat as well as the more loosely fitted split raglan overcoat.
The tailored single breasted and double breasted emulates the tailored jacket in its design and silhouette. The shoulder line sits subtly extended from the natural shoulder and drapes softly. The tailored overcoats are more suited to Autumn/Winter fabrications. The split raglan design features a split shoulder seam for a more A-shaped shoulder line with less structure. Timeless designs that can be used time and time again over decades to come. The split raglan overcoat is suited to Autumn/Winter as well as Spring fabrications.

Materials
The Saman Amel design process starts with the cloth and grows from there. From developing unique yarns exclusive to the atelier to sourcing the very best fabrics from our trusted suppliers in Italy and Great Britain, each fabric in the Saman Amel fabric curation - vast as it is - has been picked with the utmost purpose and attention to detail.
While sophistication is important, overcoat fabrics will always require a certain attention to performance as it is a garment exposed to hard wear. Be it sturdy wool, soft cashmere, textured alpaca or dense covert, the Atelier Saman Amel approach to overcoat materials is to always ensure an elegant drape and longevity.
Craft and Origin
All Atelier Saman Amel overcoats are made by expert craftspeople in Naples, Italy. With true commitment to craft, each suit is produced by specialized craftspeople whose daily work continues a generational tradition of Italian tailoring. From receiving the order, crafting the unique pattern, working throughout the numerous steps of sewing, finishing and pressing to final delivery each step is conducted without the time pressure of modern industrial production.
The family owned workshop has a commitment to social responsibility and sustainability throughout the production process that stands in stark contrast to conventional fashion industry practices. The single unit production approach - producing each garment individually as opposed to mass production - ensures that every garment is made with purpose and with a “zero vision” for over-production otherwise commonplace in the clothing industry.
